MPHMUN is Proudly Sponsoring DZIDZO

DZIDZO, which means "Joy" in the EWE language, is an association working to improve the socioeconomic and cultural living conditions of disadvantaged people in Togo, through a participatory process. Like all other associations, DZIDZO has set itself objectives to achieve for the realization of its vision, with this in mind various actions will be carried out during this new adventure.

Dzidzo is a new, small non-profit that works in the areas of health, entrepreneurship and overall community development according to needs. Over the last year we have built a water system in a rural community - improving access to safe drinking water for around 500 people.  We also support youth education by providing supplies to primary school children at the beginning of each school year. Another activity we are very excited about is our support for young women's entrepreneurship. Dzidzo is providing seed funding, small business training and mentorship for young women who have recently finished their schooling, but do not have the means to kick start their businesses. Our first cohort of 5 or 6 women have set up shop (3 beauticians, 2 tailors and a food seller). We have another group of beneficiaries finishing-up their training in the next month who we will also support.  Future projects include establishing an adult literacy program in 2 communities and, depending on funding, potentially building a bridge in a rural community where their fields get totally cut off during the rainy/harvest season.

Global Health means community health and prosperity.  You cannot address the illness without addressing the root causes!  Donate during our conference!  You will make a big difference in so many people's lives!
